Thanet student illustrator to expand hand-printed clothing business

 

A STUDENT illustrator is drawing on his skills to expand his hand-printed clothing business.Former Chatham House pupil Alex Foster, 21, has set up printing firm Get Better Press in addition to his fledgling business where he already produces distinctive hand-printed t-shirts and bags.Alex, who is an illustration student at Middlesex University in London, set up Get Better Clothing in September 2011 from his Garrard Avenue garage with girlfriend Merry.
From there he produces his bags and T-shirts for customers worldwide. He said: "Art was one of the only things I liked at school. I got mainly into illustrations, it is a different style of working and a lot more fun than fine art."I like doing things like illustrating children's books, articles and magazines. The clothing business is a way of selling prints that people can wear.
