Vital revenue stream

But when a child finds the right camp, those weeks can lead to a customer who comes back for years.

Dana Scuderi-Gucciardo started sending her son, Joseph, now 13, to the School of Rock in Manhattan for a Christmas-break camp back in 2010.Different types of costumes crothless swimwear now available for all girls to choose according to their liking. Joseph was a shy kid and was initially resistant to the idea of going to camp. The one who will help plan the wedding cheap school girl costume one who will organize the bridal shower and the bachelorette party. But within days, he broke out of his shell, and his inner rock star emerged. "They started doing songs by Led Zeppelin and Metallica, and he really enjoyed it," said Ms. Scuderi-Gucciardo. "There are no egos there, and the teachers got the kids to start writing songs from scratch. Most of the British populations are pear shaped cheap tong bikini who carry weight around their hip thigh and bottom area. It was so amazing what they were able to do in such a short amount of time. He really got passionate about music."

Now, three years later, Joseph not only attends most of the School of Rock vacation camps throughout the year, including the summer, but also takes lessons there each week. He plays several instruments and hopes to attend a music-focused high school next year.

"These day camps are really a vital revenue stream throughout the year," he said. "I view Christmas and New Year's as a good time to test things out, see what works, and hopefully pull in some people who have a good experience and want to come back for more."

Mr. O'Connor's School of Rock is also co-marketing with Manhattan Youth Baseball, offering half-day programs right after Christmas. In the mornings, students 8 and up can learn music in a camp called Rock 101 and then head over to Manhattan Youth Baseball for a multisport camp in the afternoon for $175 a day. Mr. O'Connor said that most kids aren't just interested in sports or music but both, and this is a good way to appeal to a wider audience.

Of course, kids aren't the only ones on holiday. The break can be tricky even for the camps when it comes to scheduling and staffing.

Park Slope Day Camp has been around since 1992, offering options for families throughout the year. Owner and director Ronny Schindler said that Christmas tends to be the hardest time of year for his business. "February break tends to be one full week; same with spring break. That's straightforward," he said. "You are either away or you are not, and you sign up for the full week depending on that. Christmas, you visit with family, a parent is off for a day or two.Your dress sense gets more important if you are going to attend cheap thong bikini sets meeting with client boss or consultant. It's pretty hard for us to plan these weeks compared to other vacations."

Still, at $70 a day, many Brooklyn families are jumping at the chance to sign up. He is seeing the second week of break fill up more than the first, but he expects full enrollment.

That poses another problem: finding enough teachers to handle the workload. "A lot of our staff isn't originally from New York, and many like to go home to visit family during the holidays, so staffing can be a bit hard for us," said Ms. Kharchenko of the Children's Museum.
